Primority’s Global Import Agent division was created to help our customers who were already exporting to the US and needed to be compliant with FDA rules and specifically FSVP (Foreign supplier Verification Program).
Global Import Agent is an FSVP Agent, which is a mandatory service for those food or dietary supplement manufacturers without a physical presence in the United States. This means that there must be a person resident in the US who is prepared to act as the FSVP Agent, an empty Company with not person present from the Company in the US is not sufficient.

Global Import Agent, when acting as FSVP Agent, takes responsibility for the FDA compliance of your product in the US and ensures full compliance with the FDA’s new FSMA and FSVP laws. This ranges from FDA compliant labelling and FDA prior notice to food safety assessments and food safety plan building. Global Import agent can take you through the full process of FDA compliance, with an emphasis on transparency, quality, and affordability.

Why is an FSVP Agent needed?
The introduction of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) has turned food safety compliance requirements on its head for exporters of food to the U.S.

As stated by the US FDA:
​
"All FDA-regulated products imported into the United States are required to meet the same laws and regulations as domestic goods. Imported foods must be pure, wholesome, safe to eat and produced under sanitary conditions and must contain informative and truthful labelling in English."
​
As a result, all international food, including dietary supplements, facilities must now re-register with the FDA every two years at the end of even numbered years. Food meets the new FSMA Preventive Controls for Human and Animal Food legislation and the new FSMA Produce Safety Rule's requirements. Dietary supplements must meet the requirements of cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) as a minimum.
